Maintaining Focus, Knowing the Details, and Offering True Expertise
Our History
ASM was established in San Diego County in 1977 to lead a newly formed and ever expanding cultural resources management (CRM) industry. With the recent passing of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the growing need to service clients under the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), our founder saw an opportunity to support clients while addressing specific environmental impacts. Since that time, ASM has established additional offices in California, Hawai’i, Nevada, Oregon and Washington with a continued focus on providing exceptional archaeological, historic preservation, GIS and specialized services.
Safety & Compliance
Key to ASM’s success is the safety of our clients, team members and subcontractors. We maintain a Company Healthy and Safety Manual and Injury and Illness Prevention Program outlining safety communications, injury treatments and notification requirements, personal protective equipment (PPE) and tool safety, field hazards, and safety meeting records. Staff are trained in specific safety methods including First AID CPR training, Workers Environmental Awareness Programs (WEAP), OSHA-authorized HAZWOPER training, and other project-specific safety plans. As an ISNetworld vendor, ASM maintains up to date documentation and regularly reviews best practices to provide our clients safe field operations and contracting.
Small Business
ASM is a certified Small Business (SB) and agency-specific Small Business Enterprise (SBE), helping our clients meet their small business goals. Certified through SAM.gov and multiple agencies our certifications include:
- Federal SB – Primary NAICS Codes 541720, 541620, 541990, and 541330
- Agency-specific SBE – Los Angeles Unified School District, Metropolitan Water District, Port of Long Beach, etc.
Given our extensive history working in the CRM industry we can also provide our clients disadvantaged teaming partners in other environmental fields to meet their DBE, WBE, and DVBE goals.
GSA Schedule
As a GSA Schedule holder for over two decades, ASM has successfully procured and completed hundreds of cultural resources projects for compliance with federal cultural resources requirements, including the NEPA and the NHPA. Working with agencies such as the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Forest Service and National Park Service, ASM has been able to assist federal agencies in completing their requirements in a cost effective and contractually efficient manner.
